Hey! I'm Becky - Just a girl and her pencil with a passion for creating artworks for people just like you!
What started as family asking me to sketch a birthday gift has turned into a blooming business that now reaches all over the globe! And I cannot thank each and every person that has been a part of this journey enough.
I now full-time create lifelong memories and capture the joys of a moment in art form. Pictured below is a simplified depiction of my process when I complete my graphite artworks :
- Get a general sketch of the subjects shape and build a line sketch with minimal detailing
- Erase guidelines and begin shading incrementally from HB-6B pencils; once dark enough erasing details and hair into the shading to create more definition and contrast
- Grab a 0.2mm pencil and finely apply smaller details such as eyelashes and delicate hair/freckles
- Pop on the signature and deliver it straight to you with a big ol' smile!

What type of photographs work best?
Image quality is everything! Take a look at the following tips to ensure you have the best photo:
- Lighting is key - Make sure I can see your subject clearly!
- Choosing a photo that was taken in daylight or a brightly lit room usually makes a great choice
- If possible, use the original image - screenshots and repetitively downloaded photographs tend to lose the valuable details I need to capture the subject perfectly
- Make sure the entire face/ears/body is shown in the photograph
- I want your art to be as accurate as possible - Please don't use heavily filtered photos that could potentially distort your subjects natural beauty!
- Make sure your subject is looking directly at the camera in your selected photo
- Artworks tend to work best when the subject is at eye level and facing forward - although I am able to work with any photograph of your choice
How long does it take you to finish an artwork?
Please let me know your preferred date for receiving the artwork if it is needed by a particular time.
For graphite artworks I allow myself 2-3 weeks to complete your drawing - this allows me to give each commission ample time to get the detail you deserve in your captured moment.
If you would like your order prioritised and put at the front of the queue this incurs a fee of $25. (Perfect for when that birthday coming up just slips your mind)
I will typically get your digital artwork file back to you within 7 days - timing also depends on the postage delays.

I want to combine multiple photographs into one artwork - is this possible?
It absolutely is!
I have done many an artwork where I have combined multiple photographs in one drawing. Its the perfect way to capture a beautiful memory that otherwise might not have been possible
In order to make this as lifelike as possible please ensure that photographs are taken from the same angle (or as close as you can get it! I understand it can be difficult)

I want to add a name or title to my artwork - is this possible?
Absolutely!
Just fill out the form at checkout with the instructions of what you would like written (as well as if you would like it in calligraphy cursive or block lettering)
The alternative is to contact me on contact@designs-by-becky.com after ordering your drawing.

How does payment work?
You may order through this website; or contact me directly via my Facebook, Email or Instagram.
I currently accept bank transfer/PayPal and cash if you live locally.
I take full payment prior to the service. I understand that funds can be tight sometimes and am happy to split the payment in two if you need more time. Please contact me with any concerns

What if I don't like the photo I sent originally and want to use a new photo?
Reach out to me via contact@designs-by-becky.com as soon as you can and I will see what I can do.
I highly recommend you choose your initial photograph/s wisely! I create art based on the photographs you provide so please keep that in mind before submitting your order
All change requests will be approved at my own discretion, thankyou for understanding!

How do refunds work?
Unfortunately, I am producing custom art for you and due to the nature of my products, I am unable to offer any refunds for a return.
If your product is damaged please get in touch with me within 24 hours of receiving your order and I will take care of the issue.
- If you are unhappy with your final product, please reach out to me at contact@designs-by-becky.com - I take my customers and art very seriously and your satisfaction is my main concern! I will do my best to accommodate you and make things right.

How does shipping and delivery work?
Australia
Shipping (for now) is a flat rate of $9.95 within Australia and $19.95 for international deliveries.
- I estimate orders to arrive within 1 week from time of postage. Orders will be provided with a tracking number and waterproofed.
